Here is Whitney Houston X Factor video from Oct. 18, 2009. It marked the music legend’s first performance on the British TV talent show. She performed Million Dollar Bill from her new album I Look to You.

Her otherwise spirited performance on the show, complete with backup singers and dancers, was marred by a wardrobe malfunction; a strap on her dress broke of which she said: “I sang myself out of my clothes.” She raised some concerns both among fans and in the British press as her interview with presenter Dermot O’Leary seemed to reveal her a bit ill at ease although at one point, she joked about Simon Cowell saying, “Simon calls me lippy because I say what’s on my mind, just like he does.”

The performance follows successful appearances both in Germany on Wetten Das…? and in France on Le Grand Journal as she has been in Europe in promotion of her album which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has had additional chart topping success internationally.

Here is Whitney Houston Le Grand Journal video of the legendary pop diva’s performance on Oct. 6, 2009 on the French TV show. She performed Million Dollar Bill from her recently released comeback album I Look to You, and was interviewed briefly thereafter.

The multi-Grammy Award winning music artist (with estimated worldwide album and singles sales of 190 million) expressed gratitude over the enthusiastic reception she has received since making her comeback. The album which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 has also topped the album charts in several countries internationally. She delivered an a capella rendition of the title track I Look to You during the interview as she explained the significance of the lyrics. In response to a question she noted that she had “gone beyond the Queen of R&B status” in crossing many charts, including pop, she had transcended many genres beyond R&B.

Here is the Whitney Houston Oprah video of the interview with the music legend on The Oprah Winfrey Show, plus transcript. The Sept. 14 and Sept. 15, 2009 highly anticipated tell-all interview was broadcast over two days and took place in New York City at Town Hall. See also her stirring rendition of I Didn’t Know My Own Strength, as performed on the show.

As seen in the videos Whitney Houston discusses in vivid detail her drug abuse, her marriage with R&B singer Bobbie Brown (whom she married in 1992 and divorced in 2007) with whom she shared that she felt a “crazy love” and that he was “her drug.”

She said of him: “I didn’t do anything without him. I wasn’t getting high by myself. It was me and him together, and we were partners, and that’s what my high was — him. He and I being together, and whatever we did, we did it together. No matter what, we did it together.”

She went on to note that her international fame had a negative impact on the marriage: “Something happens to a man when a woman has that much fame. I tried to play down all the time. I used to say, ‘I’m Mrs. Brown, don’t call me Houston.’ ” She goes on to described in vivid detail scenes of physical and emotional violence.

A particularly riveting moment in the Whitney Houston Oprah interview comes when the talk show host quotes from an L.A. Times article” “The pain, and frankly, disgust that so many pop fans felt during Houston’s decline was caused not so much by her personal distress as by her seemingly careless treatment of the national treasure that happened to reside within her.”

To which Whitney Houston said: “I knew in the days when I was a teenager singing for God. I was so sure. When I became “Whitney Houston” and all this other stuff that happened, my life became the world’s. My privacy. My business. Who I was with. Who I married. And I was, like, that’s not fair. I wanted to go to the park. I wanted to walk down the street with my husband, hand in hand, without somebody looking at us or having the media always in my business. … I just wanted to be normal.”

Here are Whitney Houston Good Morning America video, photos. The Whitney Houston Central Park concert took place on September 1 for broadcast on GMA on September 2, 2009. The highly anticipated appearance at Rumsey Playfield, was in support of her newly released comeback album, I Look To You.

The legendary pop diva performed three songs from the new album including Million Dollar Bill, an uptempo dance single was written by Grammy winning R&B singer-songwriter Alicia Keys, produced by noted producer Swizz Beatz and closed the set with I’m Every Woman, one of her signature hits. The set-list also included another hit My Love is Your Love.

The Daily News reports that the Whitney Houston Central Park set-list concluded with her signature hit I’m Every Woman. She had taped her September 14, 2009 Oprah appearance the preceding day and regarding her voice, she is quoted as saying:

I’m so sorry. I did ‘Oprah.’ I’ve been talking for so long. … I talked so much, my voice,” she said, trailing off. “I shouldn’t be talking. I should be singing,”

The article goes on to quote from several fans who expressed various opinions ranging from support to surprise to disappointment. Some fans had been waiting all night to hear the live concert which took place at Rumseyfield in Central Park. According to a report from a former Atlanta morning radio producer, Jake Ray, speaking to AJC.com’s Peach Buzz, Whitney Houston’s performance was indeed live:

She looks good and she sounds good…I mean, she’s not hitting those glass-breaking notes she did back in the day but she sounds good. It’s a polished performance.”

“She’s even flubbed some lyrics so I know for a fact that it’s live.”

‘I just had a different plan at this time in my life,” she told reporters at the party on Tuesday. “My daughter was 12, I think going on 13. I had moved out to L.A. and rented this little house up in the Laguna and got comfortable with being left alone, just being a mum whisking her daughter off to school and would pick her up from school.

“I liked that vibe,” she continued. “I liked that feeling because I never really had the opportunity. I was always traveling with her all the time. And then [Davis] called me one day and said, ‘It’s time.’ And I said, ‘Time for what?’ And he says, ‘Time for you to come back and sing for us again.’ ”
