Here is the Shakira on The View video of her Nov. 16, 2009 appearance on ABC daytime talk show. She performed Gypsy from her new album She Wolf, which has been released internationally, and will be released in the U.S. on Nov. 23.

She said of She Wolf in an interview:

“This album has been written from a very feminine perspective. I think maybe because I feel more like a woman today . . . I guess this album contains a lot of the emotions that a woman experiments when you’re in love or out of love — jealousy, fantasies, daydreams.”

Here is the Mariah Carey on The View video of her appearance on Oct. 2, 2009. The music superstar was interviewed by the co-hosts and additionally performed I Want to Know What Love is, lead single of her newly released 12th studio album, ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.’

During the wide-ranging interview, Mariah Carey responded to a discussion that the ABC talk show co-hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sherri Shepherd had during the Hot Topics segment of the program, in which they talked about season 6 finalist American Idol Chris Sligh’s advice to aspiring artists in general and the season 8 finalists in particular [See: American Idol Chris Sligh Advises Season 8 Idols].

The multi-Grammy Award winner reflected upon her own rise to phenomenal success in the music world noting that she began writing songs at age 13 and had taken the ‘old school’ approach, noting that her mother helped instill self-confidence by telling her to think of “when” she would make it, not “if.” She noted that in contrast, American Idol “cuts out some of the steps” for aspiring music artists, yet they may not have the skills to survive in the business.

Regarding her marriage to Nick Cannon, (after displaying her dazzling multi-caret diamond engagement ring ‘it’s a few carets, she said) she recollected their secret wedding in the Bahamas, noting that the few people accompanying them were told they were going to shoot a music video. “He’s a really fun guy,” she said, “I like that in a person.” She revealed they nicknamed each other Mr. C and Mrs. C.

Additionally, she performed her cover of Foreigners’ 1980s smash hit “I Want to Know What Love Is,” the lead single of Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.

Here is the Lil Wayne The View Video. The Grammy Award winning rapper was interviewed
and performed live on ABC The View on April 24, 2009. He performed Prom Queen, lead single from his forthcoming rock album, Rebirth. The celebrated rapper was nominated for eight 2009 Grammy Awards (more than any artist this year) and also had the No. 1 best selling album of 2008, The Carter III.

Preceding the performance, he sat down for a memorable interview with The View cohosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselback, and Sherri Sheppard.

Lil Wayne on The View talked about his early start in music; started writing at eight, signed record deal at 12 and first hit at 15 and became solo artist at age 17, making him, essentially a veteran in the music industry at age 26.

He also talked about the forthcoming album, The Rebirth, set for release on June 16, 2009. He says he is characterizing it as a rock album, but went on to elaborate that it is “Lil Wayne maturing.” (The album was also the focus of a Rolling Stone feature story, an excerpt of which can be seen here: Lil Wayne: The Story Behind the Story)

He also talked about his reentry into education. That initially his mother allowed him to leave school to pursue his music career, and when he returned he was a straight-A student. He said that had been taking classes at the University of Houston campus and now is pursuing his education online with the University of Phoenix.

Lil Wayne on the View also joked about his tattoos, saying he had room for two more tattoos and told cohost Sherri Sheppard that his signature diamond grill was an orthodontic brace.

When asked about his fondness for cough syrup and marijuana, which he has frequently rapped about, he said that it is not his key to success, and that he depends on God and motivation but conceded, “I love to smoke.”

In related news, Lil Wayne lost his court battle to stop the release of “Tha Carter,” a documentary which premiered at The Sundance Film Festival which has footage of him drinking the syrup. A California Superior Court judge rejected his request for a preliminary injunction, thus allowing the production company QD3 Entertainment to seek distribution of the film. Beyonce The View Video: Beyonce Today Show Video (4-23-09)

Here is the Beyonce The View video and Beyonce Today Show video. The music superstar visited with ABC The View cohosts on April 23, 2009, including guest cohost Meghan McCain, daughter of Senator John McCain, (filling in for Barbara Walters) and regulars, Whoopie Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Sheppard and Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

Beyonce also appeared on Today Show on April 23, 2009 in an interview with Matt Lauer and a performance of Halo. You can watch that video here as well.

These were just two of the recent television appearance blitz the ten-time Grammy winning music superstar has embarked upon in support of her forthcoming movie and the Beyonce world tour.

In the Beyonce The View video interview she talked about the movie, Obsessed, in which she stars as a woman whose husband (Idris Elba) has a flirtation with a coworker (Ali Larter) who subsequently develops a frightening obsession with the husband and with killing the wife. Obsessed opens in theaters in the U.S. on April 24, 2009.

She said that she wanted to be challenged by a nonsinging film role and that her portrayal of Etta James in Cadillac Records had prepared her for the appealing role of a strong woman who is int a victim in the movie.

Sherri Sheppard notes her work ethic, that although she makes it look easy, one does not become a superstar by accident.

She said, “I am very lazy” at home. She says she watches the View every morning when she is at home and can’t cook anything. She concluded that she is good for performing and relaxing.

She says she is “very behind” with social networking and has not yet been on Twitter although her sister Solange Knowles is an enthusiast. She had earlier alluded to having witnessed her sister give birth saying, “It was a little much. I don’t think a person should see all that.”

In the Beyonce The View video she confirmed that The I Am…Beyonce World Tour involves 71 costumes for the entire band and dancers; she herself has six costume changes. The highly anticipated tour is in support of her third studio album, I Am…Sasha Fierce.

Asked about the Justin Timberlake parody of Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) on Saturday Night Live, and the numerous parodies of her she expressed her satisfaction with it, saying she felt feel really proud that people can take partt and that she wants to do something that is relevant for the future.

In her Today Show Interview, with Matt Lauer she talked about the movie and the tour, as well as discussing her experience of performing at the Inaugural Ball where she performed the Etta James classic, At Last for the President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obamas’ first dance.

In the Beyonce Today Show video she also addressed the recent Howard Stern show hoax in which an altered remix was played and alleged to be the raw board mix from her prior Today Show appearance. Her father and manager, Matthew Knowles had spoken out publicly denouncing the stunt. She joked about it, saying ‘”It’s so amazing to me that someone in their home can just do a little prank and it can end up on this major radio station. People really were like, ‘How could you believe that? This is really over the top.”

A recent interview with Reuters sheds further light on the singer’s ambitions; she has her sights now on Broadway.

“It’s my ideal job…I’ll be able to go to the theater every day and drop my kids off and maybe make some food — maybe I’ll know how to cook by then — and then go do what I love and have some normalcy and have a regular schedule.”

“I definitely want to do Broadway.”
