In an interview with MTV News, the music video director Nabil Elderkin, who also directed videos for Kanye West’s Paranoid and Welcome to Heartbreak, said of the new video:

“It’s pretty minimalistic. It’s slow and very visual. I just wanted to catch the vibe of the song and not get too literal. Because the lyrics are very close to Kanye and go much deeper than the video goes, obviously hearing the song you know it’s very emotional.”

Kanye West rapped a new verse live at the Kid Cudi Concert in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre on Dec. 22, 2009. The full video and lyrics are below.

The multi-Grammy Award winning rapper ended his hiatus from the music scene making his first stage appearance since the infamous incident with Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV VMAs in Sept. and subsequent apology on The Jay Leno Show. His new verse addressed the state of the music industry.

“I had to get up out this motherf*cker for a second,” Ye told the crowd. “I love the game so much and I’m so passionate about it that I just can’t take this sh*t sometimes. And if they take everything away from me it wouldn’t f*cking matter. Artist are to concerned about their well-being sometimes, Artist be too scared to stand-up for something, they scared to loose their house, they scared to loose they record deal.” He then went on to say, “I sold my soul to the devil, I know its a crappy deal, it came with a few toys like a happy meal. I’m spaced out god, I be on that moon talk, I wonder if God ask Mike how to moon walk…”

Obama Calls Kanye a Jackass Video [Audio]

What began as the President’s off-the-record remark became a Tweet and now documented via the Obama Kanye Jackass video, which has gone viral, in the aftermath of the original Tweet by ABC News Nightline co-anchor Terry Moran on September 14, 2009. The President was weighing in on the Kanye West Taylor Swift incident at the MTV VMA 2009 awards which saw the rapper crash the stage when Swift won the Best Female Video Award, take the microphone and tell a stunned audience Beyonce should have won the award.

The original Tweet Moran made (before a CNBC interview with the President, when the remark was made) to his more than 1 million followers (since deleted): “Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.”

The audio and transcript of the President remarking on the incident pictured above which TMZ obtained (Obama Calls Kanye a Jackass) and which can heard via the video below reveals the President backtracking the remark: “Where’s the pool?” he asks, referring to the White House press reporters. He then adds: “Come on, guys. Cut the president some slack. I’ve got a lot of other stuff on my plate.”

ABC has since issued a statement to Politico regarding the original Tweet:

“In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.”

Holly Baily of Newsweek reveals that it is CNBC’s John Harwood who is speaking with the president prior to an interview and is asking him what he thought of the Kanye West Taylor Swift incident. Here is the Sept. 14, 2009 Kanye West Jay Leno video of the interview and apology to Taylor Swift along with photos and the Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West Run this Town live performance on the premiere of The Jay Leno Show on NBC.

During the brief interview, Kanye West, who had previously apologized via his blog, reflected upon his behavior towards Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV VMAs (pictured above) in which he notoriously appeared on stage during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video of the Year, took the microphone, interrupting her and telling the audience that Beyonce ‘had one of the greatest music videos of all time’ and should have won. As seen below, Beyonce, upon winning for Video of the Year, called Taylor Swift to the stage, allowing her the chance to give her acceptance speech.

Kanye West told Jay Leno: “It’s been extremely difficult dealing with the fact that I hurt someone…I have only wanted to help people…I immediately knew it was wrong, not a spectacle; someone’s emotions that I stepped on. I would like to apologize to [Taylor Swift] in person.”

Leno brought up West’s late mother, Donda West who died in 2007, asking him how she would have responded, and West shed some tears and said, he had never taken the time off and that he realized his hurt had taken away from someone else’s dream. He acknowledged he need to take time off. He additionally offered help Taylor Swift in the future.

Here is the official Beyonce Kanye West Ego Remix video in support of the remix of the fifth single from the Grammy Award winner’s third studio album, I Am…Sasha Fierce. The remixed version features Kanye West, who appears both in the video and on the track. The music video is similar to the original, with the Grammy Award winning rapper’s appearance in the opening section of the video.

The original music video was co-directed by Beyoncé and Frank Gatson Jr and choreographed by Sheryl Murakami. Both videos are shot in black and white and feature Beyonce alongside her two back up dancers..

Kanye West appeared on The View on June 10, 2009. Watch the full interview of Kanye West on The View video here. The ten-time Grammy Award winning rapper, musician and composer was interviewed by all of the ABC The View cohosts, Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Sheppard Joy Behar, and Elisabeth Hasselback.

He discussed a range of topics including his latest album 808s & Heartbreak and American Idol Kris Allen’s cover of Heartless his charity, The Kanye West Foundation, the charity he started with his late mother, Dr. Donda West, and has continued thereafter furthering his commitment to provide more opportunities in schools for students to learn music, by having access to musical instruction and recording equipment; opportunities which he did not have, as he reminisced about recording music at home.

Kanye West on The View talked about the album, 808s & Heartbreak, saying that in the aftermath of his mother’s death (in late 2007 due to complications after undergoing plastic surgery), he felt more of an impetus to pursue his artistic vision as, he “really didn’t have anything to lose.” He said he had striven to create an world sound with the choice of instrumentation and that he specifically chose to use Auto-Tune despite its reputation as having a “cheesy sound” to use it to make artistic music.

American Idol Kris Allen covered Kanye West’s song, Heartless, from the album, in what many consider to have been a turning point as the singer-musician went from contestant to season 8 winner. As a video clip of Allen performing the song was played, Kanye West smiled and nodded approvingly, saying, “Everybody who sings the song sings better than me.”

Kanye West praised international pop star and musician Lady GaGa and also stated that in his forthcoming tour with her, she was not an opening act, but rather that they are performing the show together.
