Here is the Jay-Z Alicia Keys World Series Yankee Stadium video of the Oct. 29, 2009 Empire State of Mind performance live at Game 2 of the series. The single is from the superstar Grammy Award winning rapper’s 11th studio album Blueprint 3.

The performance originally was scheduled for the Game 1 opening of the series on Oct. 28, but was postponed.

In a recent interview with MTV News, Grammy Award winning R&B singer-songwriter musician Alicia Keys talked about her collaboration on the hit single.

“There was a first phone call, and Jay hit me up like, ‘I feel like I have this record that’s going to be the anthem of New York.’ He’s like, ‘The piano, the way the style [is], the whole flow, and it couldn’t be the anthem of New York without you.’ Obviously, I’m very grateful to him for reaching out to me and for that type of ability to represent my hometown, like, that was crazy. So we went to the studio. I went to the studio, and … I fell in love from the jump.”

Here are the Obama Olympics 2016 speech video, photos, and transcripts. As part of the Chicago Olympics 2016 bid in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 2, 2009; both the President and the First Lady addressed the IOC. The announcement time of the host city takes place at approximately 6:30 p.m. local time. (1:30 pm ET).

The presentation by the U.S. city which competes with Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, and Tokyo to host the Games, was in total 70 minutes long. As such it was the culmination of Chicago’s four-year long campaign, with a budget of $48 million, as the Wall Street Journal reports.

President Barack Obama delivered his address before the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Copenhagen saying, in part that the U.S. “is ready and eager to assume that sacred trust…I urge you to choose Chicago. And if you do — if we walk this path together — then I promise you this: The city of Chicago and the United States of America will make the world proud.”

For her part, the WSJ reports, First Lady Michelle Obama, a native Chicagoan made an appeal, evoking memories of her father, who came down with multiple sclerosis in while in his 30s, noting that as a child she remembers sitting on her father’s lap and cheering for Olympic gymnasts Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci. former athlete

Speaking of her father: “He taught me how to throw a ball and mean right hook better than anybody in our neighborhood,” breaking into her trademark smile.

LeBron James is 24 years old and 6′9″ tall and 260 pounds, and has had tremendous success playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, as a small forward, but beyond that, he is establishing himself as a savvy businessman and entrepreneur and, as such, is taking charge of his career both on and off the basketball court. Known as “King James” and drafted at age 18, he has more than lived up to the high expectations placed upon him.

CBS News quotes data from Harvard Business School, which indicates that LeBron James, according to his total earnings both on court and off court of $40 million, is ranked is No. 3 in the sports world, after golf superstar Tiger Woods and soccer superstar David Beckham.

In a wide ranging interview, LeBron James who was born and raised in Akron, Ohio where he still lives, discussed a range of topics including his early childhood, and how he got his start in basketball.

Asked what the strongest part of his game is, James told Kroft, “The way I approach the game mentally. I think, team first. It allows me to succeed, it allows my team to succeed. Because I’m always thinking about, ‘How can I help my teammates become better?’ I’ve always approached the game that way, ever since, I mean, I was a kid.”

It’s an unusual answer for a big time professional athlete. But then James is a smart, well-grounded young family man who is raising two boys of his own with his longtime girlfriend. Loyalty and togetherness are the threads that have held together his life, most of which has been spent within a 40-mile radius of Cleveland.

President Barack Obama’s NCAA picks have been announced. See video, photos and find out more about the Obama bracket for March Madness 2009.

The College basketball NCAA tournament season is indescribable other than to call it ‘March Madness’ as the name fits. It draws virtually everyone into the science of bracketology (or is it an art?) including the Commander in Chief (where we might be tempted to call it Baracketology). He has submitted his NCAA Picks and Obama’s Bracket is on ESPN for all to see. It fulfills a campaign promise Obama made to ESPN.com senior writer Andy Katz in October 2008. He told him that if elected President he would fill out an NCAA tournament bracket.

“President Obama made his picks as a sports fan, not as a politician,” Katz said. “He was knowledgeable about the teams and was even up to date on the latest injuries involving the contenders. He was confident with his picks and delivered an on-camera pep talk for the team he picked to win it all. It was clear that he enjoyed filling out his bracket like the rest of America.”

John Legend and Colombian rock musician Juanes performed live at the 58th NBA All-Star Game on February 15, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona. See video and photos here. The music stars performed “If You’re Out There” at the halftime show at US Airways Center.

Legend, a five-time Grammy Award winning R&B singer-songwriter, debuted the single at the Democratic National Convention 2008 (DNC) in Denver, Colorado performing along with the Agape Choir. The single also appears on Legend’s third studio album, Evolver, in stores now. The duo with the 17-time Latin Grammy winner Juanes was their first performance of the track. This marks Legend’s second performance at an NBA All-Star Game; he performed in 2006 with Carrie Underwood.

“I’m excited to be part of the festivities,” Legend said. “I’m particularly happy to be involved in the NBA Cares initiative.

“I wrote If You’re Out There for just this kind of effort and I hope I’m part of mobilizing NBA players and fans to give back to their communities and think outside of themselves.”

Bruce Springsteen Super Bowl Video, Photos 2009

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl XLIII halftime show on February 1, 2009. See video and photos of the outstanding, high energy performance that was every bit the “12 minute party” the Boss had promised it would be.

Amazingly, the set songs were kept secret until the actual performance, and this only added to the enthusiasm and excitement as the set began. Springsteen and the E Street Band, comprised of Patti Scialfa (Springsteen’s wife), Steven Van Zandt, Clarence Clemons, Max Weinberg and others performed several songs including 10th Avenue Freeze Out, Born to Run, and Glory Days. For the title track from Springsteen’s forthcoming album, Working on a Dream, a large choir joined him and the band on stage. The songs were woven seamlessly amidst cheering and fireworks lighting up the night sky at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

“For the next 12 minutes, we’re going to bring the righteous power of the E Street Band into your home!” Springsteen shouted before climbing atop a piano. “Is there anybody alive out there? Is there anybody alive out there?!?”

And hell yes, there was. Springsteen ripped into “10th Avenue Freezeout,” bending backward over his microphone stand, pyro and giant video screens firing behind him. He slapped hands with fans in front of the stage and then slid across the stage — directly into a wayward cameraman — and cracked a smile.

That led right into his classic “Born to Run,” which sent the crowd into even further hysterics, and then, backed by a full gospel choir (as he was at the “We Are One” concert last month), he performed a brief segment of “Working on a Dream,” the title track of his just-released album.

Then, stretching his 12 minutes to the max, Bruce and the Band flew into “Glory Days,” clearly reveling in the moment but aware of the time constraints. “I think it’s quittin’ time, Steve,” Springsteen laughed to guitarist Steve Van Zandt.

Adding humor to the urgency of needing to end the set, Springsteen and Van Zandt joked about “penalty time” and a referee appeared on stage and threw up a flag. It was a brilliant performance from the 59 year old Bruce Springsteen, clearly among the best in Super Bowl history.

The new album, Working on a Dream, was released on January 27, 2009, a Bruce Springsteen tour kicks off in April 15, 2009 at Los Angeles Sports Arena with tickets going on sale February 2.

Jennifer Hudson delivered a stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLIII February 1, 2009. See photos and video here.

This was the Academy Award winning actress and Grammy nominated singer’s first public performance since the family tragedy in October 2008 in which her mother, brother and nephew were shot to death. Singing directly after Faith Hill’s performance of “America the Beautiful” and an emotional appearance from and tribute to Chesley B. ‘Sully’ Sullenberger and the crew of U.S. Airways Flight 1542, the former American Idol has left little doubt with this stellar performance that her career is back on track.

Prior to the tragedy, she had been on an ascendancy with the release of the self-titled debut album and an appearance in the critically acclaimed movie The Secret Life of Bees, alongside Alicia Keys and Queen Latifah. Her performance is already getting rave reviews. Just an example….

Stepping onto a small blue platform, Hudson took a deep breath and leaned easily into the microphone, letting loose her signature crystalline vocals on the country’s anthem, bringing the song a dreamy quality that rivaled one of the other great renditions of the anthem at the big game: Whitney Houston’s legendary soul shakedown in 1991 during the first Gulf War.

Confident and immaculately turned out in a dark blue military style jacket, long white top and black leggings, Hudson gave a performance for the ages, easily hitting the song’s notoriously tricky melody and nailing a pair of long notes at the end sent shivers through the TV. Pouring her heart into the music on the year’s largest TV stage, Hudson instantly set a new standard.

Jennifer Hudson is also set to perform at the MusiCares Person of the Year Gala in L.A. on February 6, 2009 and the 51st Grammy Awards on February 8, 2009. Recently, she completed shooting a video for her single ‘If This Isn’t Love.’ She received four Grammy Award nominations for her self-titled debut album, which was released in September 2008.
