Here are photos and video of Heidi Klum on the runway, at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Nov. 19, 2009. Six weeks after giving birth to baby girl Lou, with husband, soul singer, Seal, the supermodel made a sensational return to the catwalk.

She was host of the lavish annual show which took place at The Armory in New York City and featured a performance from the Black Eyed Peas. As People magazine notes, in recent interviews she gave no hint of her catwalk appearance and talked instead about hosting the event.

“You have less pressure,” she said. “You definitely have less pressure when you don’t shake your booty in front of millions around the world.”

Klum added that she still had 20 lbs. of baby weight to lose: “I embrace that I have more curves right now. I’m definitely one of the heaviest of the bunch of the 30 girls in the show.”

Tyra Banks Nightline Video 9-8-09

Here is the Tyra Banks Nightline video along with recent photos. On September 9, 2009, the former model, talk show host and media mogul discussed a range on topics with Cynthia McFadden on the ABC late night program including her two television programs for which she is known, The Tyra Show and America’s Next Top Model both of which are now on The CW. Additionally, she has just launched an online magazine, Tyra Beauty Inside and Out.

In the wide ranging, and at times contentious interview the two-time Emmy Award winner discussed some of the groundbreaking moments of The Tyra Show, including the new season opener which has already generated discussion as she revealed her real hair, without weaves, wigs or extensions. The “Tyra Banks real hair” scene is shown during the Nightline interview. Regarding which she said:

“Years ago, when I first started wearing hair extensions, I would get mail from young girls, or young girls would come up to me and they would say, ‘Tyra you have the most beautiful hair, like I could never grow hair like that!’ And I would say ‘Child, this is a weave!’ I was like, ‘This ain’t my hair, young girls need to know,’ so now I’m always pulling layers off.

“I’ve showed myself, I’ve showed my cellulite on my talk show, I’ve showed myself with no retouching, and I feel if I show the real raw me, the young girls at home will go, ‘Oh my god, my hair looks like that! My hair’s like Tyra’s and I’m OK, that means I’m OK.’”

Additionally she addressed what might be considered the contradictory messages of the shows, one which intends to educate and empower women and the other, America’s Next Top Model, whose Cycle 13 premieres on September 9, which focuses on physical beauty.

“I don’t think so, because a lot of the time the pretty girl [on "Top Model"] goes home early, or the most photogenic girl goes home early,” Banks said. “One of the big, most underlying messages for me is celebrating beauty that is not typical. … ‘America’s Next Top Model’ is not a bunch of Barbies — it’s a lot of girls that are atypically beautiful.

Barbie’s 50th anniversary is March 2009. The landmark fashion doll and cultural icon launched in 1959, has been far more than a valued toy or a collector’s item, she has followed trends and set them. For good reason she reigns as No. 41 on the list of The 101 Most Influential People Who Never Lived.

Yes, she has even inspired fashion designers. In honor of Barbie’s 50th anniversary, a tribute show was held at New York Fashion Week in February 2009 with 50 designers participating.

As the Daily Mail reports, the enduring popularity of Barbie may not be reflected in sales, which are down 8 percent, but she has won the admiration of designers as well as collectors.

Despite spanning five decades and 108 careers, including palaeontology, racing driving and presidential candidacy, the plastic-fantastic starlet has never let a hard day’s work get in the way of good grooming. [...]

It is perhaps her waning popularity in the west [sales are down 8 percent] that has seen the toy company open a six-story flagship store in Shanghai called House of Barbie, featuring a restaurant, spa and runway where girls can pretend to be fashion models. [...]

Jerry Oppenheimer, author of a book on Mattel called Toy Monster says: ‘It’s very clear that the taste of little girls who play with dolls has changed, ‘They have come into the 21st century, where they play on their own laptops, and have their own cell phones. ‘Dolls will be a part of their lives and Barbie will be part of that, but it will be a small window.’

Yet, designers including Diane von Furstenburg are rushing to dress her, there has even been an anniversary figure made of German chancellor Angela Merkel in her honour.

In total, Barbie has inspired or been muse to more than 70 designers including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Vera Wang and Versace. Among those designers paying tribute to the Barbie 50th anniversary, is legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld who has designed a special Barbie collection, which will be on display in Paris, France in March 2009 at Collette. Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto graces the cover of March 2009 Maxim India and is featured in a photo shoot. See the photos and video here.

Model turned actress Pinto who made her film debut in Slumdog Millionaire, winner of eight Oscar Awards, has been much in demand as a cover girl with appearances on the cover of Vogue India, Cosmopolitan India, Anokhi, and Entertainment Weekly (with co-star Dev Patel).

In Slumdog Millionaire she portrayed Latika, the long-lost love of the movie’s main character, Jamal Malik, (Dev Patel), the 18-year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai who wins India’s version of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,’ and then, under suspicion of cheating is arrested.

Recently, Hollywood’s newest A-list actress has been at Milan Fashion Week 09, where she has been seen and photographed with Scarlett Johansson, Kate Hudson, Claudia Schiffer and others. Pinto is set to star in the forthcoming Woody Allen movie which will also star Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts and Anthony Hopkins.

Pinto discussed her new fame in a recent interview.

“It’s a blessing and I need to learn to relish and savour each moment, so that’s what I’m doing. And, most importantly, I have to breathe! [...]

“The baffled look Dev Patel’s character Jamal had when he won the money in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ is pretty much my expression any time I see an A-lister on the red carpet!

“I am trying to enjoy it all as much as I can, because this is an once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

In the interview for the cover story ‘Beyoncenvolved: An Intimate Portrait of the Superstar You May Not Know,’ Beyonce talks about a variety of subjects, including home life with husband Jay-Z.

On how she defines herself and her professional career.

“I’m a daughter, I’m a friend, I’m a wife, I’m a sister. All those things first. I’m artist. I’m a businesswoman. I’m multifaceted. I’m a lover. I’m inspired by love. I make decisions from the heart.” [...]

“I turn down million dollar offers all the time because it’s something that does not feel true for what I’m trying to say. I have to be passionate about it. Love inspires and growth inspires me…If it is not going to be iconic, something I can love 10 years from now, I’ve learned I should not waste my time with it.” [...]

Regarding her marriage to Jay-Z.

“He was very successful before I met him and I was very successful before I met him. So we have so much respect for each other, and respect for each other artistically. We are very close friends, and I believe he is the ultimate artist and he has the same feelings for me.” [...]

She expresses her reluctance about talking about her marriage while sharing a few tidbits, even confessing she is “a little messy” at home.

“I don’t know how to talk about it because I don’t like to talk about it. But I have a great example of a great wife, and that’s my mother. And I have great friends around me that have been married, so I’m lucky to have really good examples. And a great husband.”[...]

“I’m a little messy. Oh, yeah. Whenever I’m out in public, I have to be put together. When I get home, I rebel against it and I don’t want to take care of anything. I drop it. I’m relaxed. I don’t have any shoes on. No makeup. My purse is in the kitchen. I think that is most difficult thing for him. He’s very, very organized. I’m extremely organized when I’m working, and I work so much that when I get home I don’t want to think about anything.”

The White House has unveiled the First Lady Michelle Obama portrait. See the photo and video here. The First Lady is attired in a black sleeveless dress adorned with pearls in the photograph taken by Joyce N. Boghosian in the Blue Room of the White House in February 2009.

The dress is by New York designer Michael Kors. Kors has become well-known for his role as a judge in the popular reality TV series Project Runaway. This is the first time that the First Lady has worn one of his designs. Reportedly, her stylist, Chicago retailer Ikram Goldman, approached the designer and requested some pieces though not specifiying when or where they would be worn.

The dress Mrs. Obama wears in the portrait is a black version of a red gown in bonded crepe jersey that was shown in Mr. Kors’s spring 2009 runway show. The runway version retails for $3,195, but a spokesman for Mr. Kors would not discuss the price of the black dress made for Mrs. Obama.

The First Lady has become noted for her choice of sleeveless dresses which flatter her well-toned arms. She opted to go sleeveless at the recent President Obama Speech to Congress, mistakenly called as the ‘State of the Union’ address, as Obama has only been in office for a few weeks. Freida Pinto Vogue India March 2009 Cover, Photos

Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto graces the cover of Vogue India March 2009 issue and featured in a photo shoot. See photos and video here of the gorgeous actress who was photographed by Regan Cameron in Louis Vuitton.

The movie won eight Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director and has made its stars (Dev Patel and the young child actors from the slums of Mumbai, India), its British director, Danny Boyle and famed Bollywood composer A.R. Rahman enormously popular worldwide. The Pussycat Dolls, for instance, have recorded a remixed version the Oscar winning song Jai Ho, produced by Polow Da Don.

The 24 year old Pinto made her film debut in Slumdog Millionaire. Previously she was a model, appearing in ads for products that include Wrigley’s Chewing Gum. In Slumdog Millionaire she plays the love interest of the main character who is an 18-year-old orphan who wins the jackpot on India’s version of the TV show ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’

Woody Allen cast her in his upcoming movie shortly after the runaway success of Slumdog Millionaire at the Academy Awards. She will costar with Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts and Anthony Hopkins.

Despite being new to acting, she attributes her modeling career with helping her feel at ease in front of the camera, and for being a standout at the audition and being cast in the movie.

‘I always wanted to act in films, but in India it’s very difficult to become an actress if you haven’t got a godfather: someone with influence, always a man, in the industry to help get you into auditions.

‘But I didn’t need a godfather for Slumdog. I just went along, did the audition with Dev and then Danny picked me.

‘I have no idea whether acting is a future for me, but I would like to do more film work. The reaction to Slumdog has been beyond my wildest expectations.’
