I started writing when I was six years old and along the way from grade school poet and playwright to grown up blogger, I have enjoyed the journey in the world of media and publishing.

I taught creative writing at my alma mater, Oberlin College. Three of my students later went on to the Iowa Writers Workshop and have since received their MFA degrees. That is a gratifying feeling, to know you have been a positive force in the creative development of a fellow writer.

I have had a lifelong interest in pop culture, entertainment, music, politics, and cultural history. I’ve been on the Internet for so long it’s hard to imagine life without the world, literally at my fingertips and I’m happy to share what I discover day by day.
