See the live medley performance as well as the acceptance speech by the Motown legend at the 45th annual awards ceremony, held on Sunday, November 19th at the Microsoft Theatre in L.A. hosted by fer daughter Tracee Ellis Ross. Diana Ross performed “I’m Coming Out,” “Ease on Down the Road,” “Take Me Higher” and more iconic hits prior to the award presentation. On stage as she received the award she was surrounded by family including her daughter Tracee Ellis Ross. the aforementioned host of the award ceremony, as well as her daughter Rhonda Ross Kendrick, son Evan Ross, and some of her grandchildren. Also joining her on stage were Motown founder Berry Gordy and fellow Motown legend, Smoky Robinson.

Acknowledging them during her acceptance speech, she said, “This is the family. We love you so much, so very much. This is all about love. This says it all. This is my family and I’m sending love out there to all of you, each and every one of you of our global family.”

Previous recipients of the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award include Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, Prince, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, Janet Jackson, and Billy Joel among others. Most recently, Sting was honored with the award in 2016.
