As noted, Sam Smith performed ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’ and ‘Pray,’ which are respectively the first and second officials singles of his highly anticipated sophomore studio album, ‘The Thrill of It All.’ The album is due out on November 3rd via Capitol Records. Smith rose to fame in 2014 with his international smash hit ‘Stay with Me’ from his critically acclaimed major-label debut album, ‘In the Lonely Hour.’ The album went on to win four Grammy Awards including Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, as well as ‘Song of the Year and Record of the Year for ‘Stay with Me.’ He also won three BRIT Awards including British Breakthrough Artist.
Sam Smith recently announced his long awaited forthcoming sophomore album; you can see the cover art below. He also announced his 2018 The Thrill of It All’ North American Tour which kicks off on June 18th in Toronto and wraps oh September 13th in Calgary. (Full itinerary is below.)
‘Too Good at Goodbyes’ topped the UK Singles Chart and also topped charts in Australia, New Zealand and Scotland. In the U.S. it has reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has reached the top 10 in several countries around the world, including Canada, Denmark, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden and Norway among many others.
The gospel-infused ‘Pray’ is Smith’s collaboration with Timbaland which he released on Friday, the day before his appearance on Saturday Night Live. The official audio video went viral on YouTube racking up more than three million views and more than 159,000 “likes” in the first 24 hours of release.
