Full Video: Roger Stone Today Show Interview on President Trump Firing FBI Director James Comey, Thurs., May 11, 2017

Here’s the full video of Roger Stone’s live face-to-face interview with Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie on the ‘Today Show.’ The veteran political consultant, author and former campaign manager of President Donald Trump made an appearance in support of the Netflix documentary “Get Me Roger Stone,” alongside the filmmaker Morgan Pehme. He was asked about the President’s decision to fire FBI Director James Comey. He denied reports that he had advised him to do so. He was also asked about the allegations of Russian interference in the general election and collusion with Russia of the Trump campaign and administration. The complete replay is below.

Roger Stone said he believed President Trump “made the right decision” in firing the FBI director. He was asked if he thought that that the firing had to do with how Comey had handled the Hillary Clinton email investigation or whether it had to do with the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the election. Stone said the firing had “nothing to do with Russia.” He went on to say, “I think it had to do with the fact that the President no longer had confidence in him.”

He was also asked about his Tweets (below) after the President fired Comey — and parallels, if any to Nixon’s firing of Archibald Cox — and later in the interview, about the ongoing investigation and said that he calls the Russian collusion story a “canard.”

The interview was broadcast originally on Thursday, May 11, 2017.
