Steve Harvey on ‘GMA’ (Video) Live Interview on ‘Jump,’ His New Inspirational Book

Steve Harvey’s newly published book, ‘Jump: Take the Leap of Faith to Achieve Your Life of Abundance,’ which is based on a motivational talk he gave off-air to the audience at ‘Family Feud,’ encouraging them to “jump,” i.e. to pursue dreams and passions. It went viral, and as of now, the video was viewed more than 60 million times.

He said of the book is “just a series of principals.” Elaborating, he went on to say, “Once you master the principals, you can become very successful and very happy with your life.” He spoke about how he got his start in comedy in 1985, winning amateur night at a comedy club. He went on to say that he then quit factory job, explaining, “I had found it. This is what I was born to do.”

Continuing, he said, “When I took that leap of faith it cost me a lot. I stumbled, I became homeless after a while… A half a million things went wrong and then you look up today and a lot of stuff is going right. But it only gets to go right if you jump.”

He also opened up about the Miss Universe pageant in which in announced the wrong winner and said of the experience and the aftermath. He said, “I had been asking God to increase my global persona because I have businesses outside of the country. After I said the wrong name [of the Miss Universe winner], 48 hours later, my name had been Googled four billion times.” He quipped, “So I didn’t appreciate the way He gave it to me.”
