Listen to the audio stream above. ‘Dirty Laundry’ is the second official single of the highly anticipated new solo album, Talk a Good Game, to be released June 18, 2013 from Kelly Rowland, formerly of Destiny’s Child, (with Beyonce and Michelle Williams).

Produced and written by The-Dream, Rowland’s song has provoked widespread reaction — on Twitter where it became a trending topic as well as reviews by critics — due to the autobiographical content of its lyrics which speak of the aftermath of Destiny’s Child and Beyonce’s solo career ascendency contrasted with her own efforts:

“When my sister was on stage, killin’ it like a motherf–er/ I was enraged, feelin’ it like a motherf–r/ Bird in a cage, you would never know what I was dealing with/ Went our separate ways, but I was happy she was killin’ it/ Bittersweet, she was up, I was down…”

The lyrics also speak, equally unsparingly of an abusive relationship with a boyfriend: “I was trapped in this house, lying to my mama / Thought it could get no worse, as we maximize the drama / Started to call them people on him, I was battered / He hit the window like it was me, until it shattered.”
