Adam Lambert, decked out in black leather and sporting a beard, manicured nails and black eyeliner, discussed the highly anticipated 2012 VH1 Divas which will be broadcast on December 16. He said that in addition to hosting, he will also be performing. The program has a stellar lineup of singers including Ledisi, Kelly Rowland, Miley Cyrus, Ciara, Natasha Bedingfield, Keri Hilson, Demi Lovato, Iggy Azalea, Melania Fiona, as well as American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks, among others. He said that tributes will be performed for two legendary singers, Whitney Houston and Donna Summer during the course of the evening.

Adam Lambert also weighed in on the upcoming season 12 of American Idol, saying that he hoped that it can focus on the contestants. He talked also about being an openly gay artist since age 18 and reflected upon how much has changed for the LGBT community — gay marriage, etc. — since he appeared on the program in 2009 and his sexuality was seen as somewhat controversial.

Additionally he talked about what it was like touring with the legendary band Queen.
