Watch President Barack Obama’s Cornell College in Iowa campaign speech video on Weds. Oct. 17, 2012. At the rally at Richard and Norma Small Multi-Sport Center (relocated from Armstrong Hall) on campus in Mount Vernon, IA, the President will deliver remarks starting at 12:45 p.m. ET; 11:45 a.m. CT local time. The event had previously been scheduled for Armstrong Hall, but has been changed at the last minute (the original campaign visit was also rescheduled a few days ago, from a venue in Cedar Rapids). Doors open at 9:15 a.m. CT local time (10:15 a.m. ET) and President Obama will address the rally beginning at 12:45 p.m. ET; 11:45 a.m. CT local time. President Obama has made numerous trips to Iowa, a key battleground state in the 2012 Presidential election. It also marks his first campaign appearance after the second Presidential debate, a town hall format held at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Later in the day, he makes an appearance in Athens, Ohio, another battleground state. The latest polls, a day in advance of the debate, show his opponent Republican candidate Governor Mitt Romney building a lead in Iowa and other battleground states, particularly among women voters.
