Justin Bieber had a sit-down interview with all of the co-hosts of the ABC daytime program; Barbara Walters, Whoopie Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. It marked his fourth appearance on the show, with Walters noting she had first interviewed him four years ago. His grandfather was present, sitting in the audience in the front row, and was introduced. He said that he was among the family members, including his mother, who travel with him on tour.
Among topics discussed in the interview was his transition from teen idol to a maturing adult artist and how the music of Believe reflects this. He was also asked about how he is coping with international fame and the fans who camp out for days in advance of his concerts, including the recent series of free concerts around the world which will be highlighted in an upcoming two-part special on NBC, Justin Bieber, All Around the World (on Weds and Thurs June 20-21).
The song list for the live performance included Boyfriend, lead single of the new album, as well as Die in Your Arms, accompanied only by a single acoustic guitar.
