Here is the Mariah Carey Good Morning America video from Tues. Feb. 21. 2012. In the live interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts, at the GMA Times Square studio, the music superstar discussed a range of topics including the death of Whitney Houston, her husband, Nick Cannon’s recent health problems, her weight loss success and her work with the American Heart Association. On the death of Whitney Houston, “It’s very heavy emotionally especially looking at that bit of us together,” she said, referring to the video clip GMA had just shown of her and Whitney Houston’s duet of When You Believe (see full video here). It was great. There was a supposed rivalry.” She added,”We were all inspired by her. May she rest in peace.” Regarding the funeral service, she said, “It’s such a class act, I was very moved.”

She also discussed her work with the American Heart Association and the February Go Red for Women campaign to raise awareness of the prevalence of heart disease among women.

Regarding her weight loss after the birth of her twins, Moroccan and Monroe with husband Nick Cannon, and her role as a celebrity spokesperson for weight loss company Jenny (Craig), she said, “It’s about health. I’m still trying to get to my goal.” As for diet and exercise tips, she said, “Eat more vegetables and fruit. I work out as well. That falls into the AMA because you’ve got to get up and move around a little bit.”

She said of Nick Cannon and his recent health problems, “It was something that hit us really hard at the beginning of the year.” She added that he is doing well and that it was best that me made the decision to leave his radio show and that it’s about changing the lifestyle, and the awarness of what can happen to you.

She said she is working on some music to be released soon. “It just happened and I feel it’s appropriate for the moment now.”
