Watch the Halloween at the White House 2011 video and see photos from Saturday, October 29, 2011. The annual trick or treating celebration hosted by President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, her mother Marian Robinson, and family took place at the North Portico of the White House. According to the official schedule, those invited include local elementary school students from the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia areas. Additional children taking part in the trick or treat festivities include children of military families and members of the Boys and Girls Club of America and children from military families. The line-up of music performers and entertainers included the Marine Band, and actors from Washington, DC theaters donning Halloween costumes. Pumpkin carving and Jack-O-Lantern displays were provided by Chef James Parker’s Veggy Art of Chantilly, Virginia. Treats handed out included dried fruit, White House M&Ms and White House Pastry Chef Bill Yosses’ sweet dough butter cookies.
