At the General Electric Turbine Plant in Schenectady, NY, President Barack Obama announces the appointment of GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt to head the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness and addresses job creation in the clean energy sector. After a tour of the GE turbine plant, with CEO and Chairman Jeffrey Immelt, the President will formally announce him as head of his newly revamped advisory board, replacing Paul Volcker.
