Here are National Geographic Explorer: Born to Rage? with Henry Rollins video and photos. The new episode of the season premieres on Tues. Dec. 14, 2010 at 10 pm ET/PT.

The program investigates the controversial “warrior gene” which is alleged to be directly associated with violent behavior. The possibility of such a gene — while quite timely with the recent media attention to bullying and violent crime, particularly within the school system — is also reviving the nature-versus-nurture debate.

Henry Rollins, a Grammy-winning rocker, author and radio/television broadcaster is drawn to this issue because has struggled with violent feelings and a quick temper throughout his life, dating back to being beaten up at school. Later, as an adult he had vented his rage as front man for the California punk band, Black Flag, and similarly with his current spoken word performances. He is tired of a lifetime of anger, which he had attributed to the environment in which he was raised.

But after finding out about the so-called “warrior gene,” he is now determined to find out if his anger to do with his upbringing or is it inside him, part of his DNA. He goes in search of carriers from diverse, sometimes violent backgrounds who agree to be tested for the genetic mutation. Who has the warrior gene? And are all violent people carriers? The results turn assumptions upside down.
