During the interview, the singer-songwriter discussed her experience on American Idol addressing expectations that she would win and that throughout the season she had been perceived as the frontrunner. She also discussed the breakup with her boyfriend on the day of the Idol final week performances and the finale night experience of performing a duet with Alanis Morissette and, along with winner Lee DeWyze, with the legendary Joe Cocker.
