Here is the full Michelle Obama Larry King Live video and transcript. The interview with the First Lady was broadcast on Tues. Feb. 9, 2010, the same day that her Let’s Move task force on childhood obesity was launched. During the wide ranging interview, she discussed the new campaign, steps she has taken to help her own daughters. She also responded to questions about the Obama administration and her reaction to criticism, most recently from former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Regarding the Let’s Move initiative, she stressed the urgency of tackling the problem of childhood obesity as government statistics reveal that one-third of U.S. children are overweight or obese. She said: “”We don’t have a choice. When we look at these statistics, we’re spending billions of dollars on preventable diseases, and new health care legislation could go a long way to improving prevention, first and foremost.”

Regarding Sarah Palin’s criticisms, most recently during her Tea Party Convention speech, the First Lady said: “I don’t have a read. I mean, I try not to make or set opinions about people that I haven’t had any, you know, substantive interaction with. I mean, I know what you see on TV.” She went on to say: I think it’s wonderful to have strong female voices out there, but I don’t know her.”
