The documentary is a companion piece to the February National Geographic magazine cover story.

In what has been dubbed a real-life ‘Big Love,’ Winston Blackmore (picture above) is the family patriarch and leader of a fundamentalist Mormon polygamist community in Bountiful, British Columbia. He has more than 20 wives and more than 100 children. Blackmore as one who practices what is known as “the principle,” believes that having many wives and dozens of children helps to insure he will enter into the highest of Heavens.
