Here is the Ringo Starr Jimmy Fallon video from Jan. 12, 2010 of his interview and performance on the late night show in support of Y Not, his newly released 16th studio album. He was the sole guest on the program, dubbed a “takeover.” With Ben Harper and Relentless7, he performed the Beatles classics I Wanna Be Your Man and With A Little Help From My Friends as well as Walk With You, The Other Side of Liverpool from the new album.
Y Not is the former Beatle and music legend’s first album since Liverpool 8′ in 2008. Among the numerous guest appearances on the album, fellow Beatle Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh and Joss Stone. As the New York Times ArtsBeat reports, he will be touring this summer in North America with his All-Starr Band; the tour will include a concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on July 7; his 70th birthday. He said:
“I’m in a profession where, as long as I can pick up the sticks, I can work.”
