Here is the Mary J. Blige Today Show video of her interview and performance on Dec. 22, 2009 of I Am, from her newly released 9th studio album, Stronger with Each Tear.

She discussed the album and the significance of its title with co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, telling them. “I’ve got through so much in my life. I want to be able to relate to people and let them know I’m with them with this. I learned from my mistakes and came out stronger.”

Regarding the song ‘I Can See in Color’ which also appears on the movie soundtrack of Precious, Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, she said she could relate to the depression of the title character. “I chose life as Precious chose life,” she said.
