Here is the Danny Gokey, My Best Days Are Ahead of Me video and lyrics. The new single from the season 8 American Idol finalist has replaced It’s Only as the lead single of his forthcoming debut album which will be released in March 2010. The song, which will be available for digital download on Dec. 22, can be heard in its entirety via the video below.

UPDATE: The official music video which debuted in Jan. 2010 can be seen on the American Idol Web site.

USAToday reports that the singer-songwriter’s label RCA Nashville made the decision to change singles, a decision with which he is in agreement. He is quoted as saying:

“I love this song for what it stands for. I don’t live in the past. I live in the ‘now’ … in the future … and in the dreams that I have. I know that my best days really are ahead of me.”

The song was written by Marv Green and Kent Blazy who wrote Reba McEntire’s Consider Me Gone and Garth Brooks’ (Ain’t Goin’ Down) ‘Til the Sun Comes Up, respectively.
