Here is the Susan Boyle DWTS video of her appearance on Nov. 10, 2009 in support of her forthcoming debut album I Dreamed a Dream. She performed the title track, the song from Les Miserables that made her world famous in Britain’s Got Talent.

She performed on results night which saw Aaron Carter, singer and brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, and his professional partner Karina Smirnoff sent home. A full recap is here: ‘Dancing With the Stars’ results: Who goes home?

The new album, released on Nov. 24, 2009, features a wide variety including covers of such artists as Madonna as well as classic Broadway songs and sacred music. In a recent interview with the Scottish Daily Record, she addressed the aftermath of her second-place finish on Britain’s Got Talent, the show which made her internationally known.

“Everything had built up and I was exhausted. You have to understand, my life ceased to be normal when Britain’s Got Talent went live. There were a lot of press people outside my door, a lot of television people, a lot of people who wanted a piece of me.

“I thought, ‘God, what’s happening here.’ I never expected that.

“It got to the stage where I couldn’t even go outside. I was quite frightened. I felt very vulnerable, because I was living on my own. There were phone calls 24 hours a day. They kept me awake for three weeks, until I changed my number.
It was totally out of control, like a steamroller. It just got bigger and bigger and bigger until, eventually, it can flatten you.”

She went on to discuss for the first time publicly her experiences in the aftermath of the BGT competition which had made headlines.

“I hadn’t eaten properly for about a week, hadn’t slept properly. The feeling was one of extreme exhaustion that manifested itself in firing off at everyone.

“I don’t remember much else. I just know someone sent for an ambulance and I went to the Priory. I needed to sleep. I was too tired to even think straight.”
