Here is the Rod Stewart Dancing with the Stars video from results night Nov. 3, 2009 of his performance of It’s The Same Old Song from his latest album Soulbook, a collection of covers from the Motown and Memphis Soul classics of the 1960s and 1970s with appearances from Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Mary J. Blige, and Jennifer Hudson.
The music legend’s live performance of the classic song, which was a hit single for The Four Tops in 1965, featuring the professional dancers in a cha-cha-cha. It preceded the double elimination of Michael Irvin and professional partner Anna Demidova followed by Lacey Schwimmer and Mark Dacascos (after a dance-off Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff). Additional musical performers were Colbie Caillat performing Fallin for You and the Derek Hough and Mark Ballas’ band performance of their new song, Move.
