The electro-pop dance song was produced by celebrated hitmaker Dr. Luke known for such hits as Kelly Clarkson’s My Life Would Suck Without You, Flo Rida’s Right Round, and Katy Perry’s I Kissed a Girl to name a few. It had its official debut on Oct. 30, 2009 on the radio program On Air with Ryan Seacrest, with Lambert himself present in the studio. MTV News reports the glam-rock singer describing the new single on the broadcast as follows:
“I am so excited, I popped right out of bed,” he said. “Turn it up really loud, guys! I know it’s really early, but turn it up!” Seacrest then hit play. “For Your Entertainment” is a synth-heavy pop club tune or, as Lambert put it, “dance music with a glam rock shuffle beat.”
