Here is the Sting Letterman video of the Oct. 28. 2009 of the music legend’s appearance on the Late Show in support of his recently release album, If On A Winter’s Night. He performed Soul Cake from the new release which is comprised of lullabies and carols and other traditional songs from Great Britain, along with two original compositions, The Hounds of Winter and Lullaby for an Anxious Child.
In addition to the CD, the album also features a DVD “Sting: A Winter’s Night…Live from Durham Cathedral” which was recorded at the historic landmark in England. [Source: Sting reveals how he enjoys coming back to the North East]
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the 16-time Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter and musician discussed the album.
Sting explained that the album explores the “double-edge” of the Christmas season. “I think the winter has this almost gravitational pull to someplace warm, cozy — like home or the church,” he said. But for people who can’t make it home or have no home to go to, it’s “the worst time of year. I think the album wants to balance those two things.”
