The forthcoming fourth studio album from singer-songwriter Norah Jones, the Fall (track-list below) will be released on Nov. 17, 2009 on EMI Blue Note Records. The highly anticipated album will be her first since the double-platinum-selling Not Too Late.
Initially announced in August as an album which will be a departure from the Grammy Award winner’s signature fusion of jazz, pop, folk and soul, Billboard.com reported that Norah Jones’ new album features production from Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse) along with songwriting from Ryan Adams, Will Sheff of Okkervil River and Jesse Harris, her longtime collaborator responsible for her breakthrough hit, “Don’t Know Why.”
In an interview with Billboard.com she revealed her intentions to work with a different group of musicians.
“I’d been playing with the same musicians for a long time,” says Jones. “We’re all still friendly and I hope we play together again, but it felt like a good time to work with new people and experiment with different sounds.”

As Rolling Stone reports, with the new album, Norah Jones has chosen to perform on acoustic guitar rather than piano.
“It just felt more natural for me to play it on these songs,” Jones said of the change. “I knew I wanted to play with grooves more than I have on previous albums. Some of these new songs lent themselves to having driving rhythms underneath.”

She made a recent appearance at the Sept. 9, 2009 Apple press conference with CEO Steve Jobs where she debuted a new song, Young Blood, from the forthcoming album, as well as a signature hit, Come Away With Me.
