Here is the Avett Brothers Craig Ferguson video. The folk-rock band performed Laundry Room on Oct. 6, 2009 on the Late Late Show in support of their newly released studio album I and Love and You (track-list below).
The band is from North Carolina and comprised of brothers banjo player Scott Avett guitarist Seth Avett along with upright bass player Bob Crawford. The new album is the band’s major label debut; produced by celebrated producer Rick Rubin who signed the band to his American Recordings at Columbia, is receiving critical acclaim. In an interview with Billboard, Avett discussed the band’s departure from its more folk and bluegrass leanings — dubbed “grunge grass” — and explorations into other music genres.
“I lived on a dirt road in a 60-acre farm in North Carolina where Michael Jackson probably never stepped foot. But that didn’t matter to me — I loved him and I imitated him.” [...] “Every artist — I’m sure Dylan had to do it, the Beastie Boys had to do it, I’m sure a lot of people had to — digs themselves out of the hole they dug when they were younger because we all evolve musically.”
