Here are National Geographic Dog Whisperer video and photos of the season 6 premiere, How to Raise the Perfect Dog, which will air on NGC on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 9 pm ET/PT with host Cesar Millan, professional dog trainer and book author.

The popular Emmy-nominated series is back with its season opener which will profile a pit bull named Junior whom Cesar hopes can some day be assistance to him in his most difficult cases. He is looking ahead as Daddy, his trusted accomplice is approaching retirement. It is a long-term partnership which began when Daddy was only four months old. He was seen by an even wider audience when he accompanied Cesar during his appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Daddy must of necessity retire from his duties, and Cesar has adopted Junior as the first to join his pack; next he picks a Labrador pup to join the pack. Southern California Labrador Retriever Rescue brings two puppies to Cesar’s Dog Psychology Center and he selects the calm, submissive male, whom he slowly introduces to the pack at the center.

The episode reveals the pack mentality characteristic of dogs as viewers will see how the pack takes in the new puppy, without human intervention or interaction. Cesar names the puppy Marley, after the well known dog who was the subject of the movie “Marley & Me,” which chronicled the life of Cesar’s friend and client John Grogan.

In addition to the return of the popular NGC series, the charitable organization he runs with his wife, the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation, (which benefits shelters and rescue organizations) he has additionally begun a new endeavor, a magazine for dog owners, Cesar’s Way, featured in an article in the Wall Street Journal: ‘Dog Whisperer’ Hopes to Lead Pack at Newsstand
