Here is the official Kris Allen Live Like We’re Dying video and lyrics. It is the lead single from the season 8 American Idol’s forthcoming major label debut album set for release on November 17, 2009 on Jive Records. The song can be heard in its entirety below.

The video had its premiere on PopEater along with an exclusive interview in which he discussed the making of the clip:

It was cool because we actually shot it in the desert in L.A. in the middle of nowhere in this junkyard and we had this set, it was this huge digital clock which was really cool and it was kind of raggedy looking and we shot it from 8PM to 8AM in the morning. That was crazy, with no breaks at all. The video is really cool …

The song was written and originally recorded by the Irish pop-rock band The Script, but was not included on their multi-platinum selling self-titled debut album. Two of the band members, Danny O’Donoghue and Mark Sheehan have been previously in the U.S. as a songwriting duo and have worked with The Neptunes and Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins among others.

The song as recorded by Kris Allen, was officially released to radio on September 21. His highly anticipated debut album is as yet untitled. According to Billboard, collaborators on the forthcoming album include:

The Fray’s Joe King, songwriter Claude Kelly (Akon, Leona Lewis), Salaam Remi (Nas, Amy Winehouse) and David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry). Allen also hit the studio in Nashville with singer/songwriter Matt Kearney, and last week he told EW.com of writing sessions with Toby Gad (Beyoncé, Fergie) and Lindy Robbins (Backstreet Boys, Jordin Sparks).
