Mariah Carey Oprah Video, Photos 9-18-09

Here are the Mariah Carey Oprah video and photos of her performance of I Want to Know What Love Is broadcast on September 18, 2009 from New York City Central Park on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Accompanied by the True Worship Choir she sang the cover of the 1984 Foreigners international smash hit which is the official single lead of her highly anticipated forthcoming 12th studio album, ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ set for release on September 29, 2009.

The music superstar delivered a standout performance of the song, complete with her signature high notes. The album version I Want to Know What Love Is was Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and James “Big Jim” Wright.

In addition to the live performance, Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon were interviewed by Oprah on the show. She discussed the award winning forthcoming independent film, Push Based on a Novel by Sapphire, in which she has a supporting role as social worker.

The interview and live performance were part of the special episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show broadcast live from Central Park, which included numerous guests including NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, David Letterman, Hugh Jackman, Daniel Craig, talk show hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa. Additionally, there was the announcement of the new Oprah’s Book Club selection; her first ever selection of short stories, “Say You’re One of Them” by Nigerian author and Jesuit priest Uwem Akpan.
