Here is the Leona Lewis America’s Got Talent video of her live performance of Happy on the September 16, 2009 season 4 finale. It is the lead single of the British pop star and X Factor winner’s sophomore studio album Echo.
The highly anticipated new album is set for a November 17, 2009 U.S. release (Nov. 16 internationally). Lewis co-wrote the new song with Evan Bogartby and Ryan Teddar, celebrated producer (previously of her international hit single Bleeding Love) and OneRepublic frontman who also served as the track’s producer.
In an interview with BBC Radio 1’s Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates she explained the reason for the title Echo.
“On the album, there’s a lot of big sounds, and its an epic word, so I thought it’d fit the album.”
She additionally shared her apprehensions as to how the lead single, Happy will be received.
“I’ve lived with this song for so long, and now I’m sharing it with everyone, so it’s very nerve-wracking.”
