It is the lead single from the British singer-songwriter’s forthcoming eighth studio album Draw The Line (track-list below) which will be released on September 14, 2009 in the U.K. and Sept. 22 in the U.S. His first album in four years, it features guest appearances from Annie Lennox, formerly of Eurythmics and Jolie Holland.

The singer-songwriter achieved international success with his Grammy Award nominated multi-platinum selling 1998 album White Ladder, his fourth studio album, which was followed by subsequent successful albums, including the most recently, the 2005 album Life in Slow Motion. In an interview with the Times Online he discussed a range of topics, including how the new album came about; it was self-produced and self-funded with a new band and different record label. Additionally, he discussed how he has come to terms with international fame.

“The past had become such a prison,” he says. “White Ladder was a fairy tale that wrote itself with me in the centre — and on such a grand scale. It has taken a bit of getting used to. When something like that happens, for all the blessings it brings, you’re also defined by it, and characterised and caricatured, really. The thrill of writing is all about the new. So I’ve always been anxious to get free. But when the world has blessed you in such a glorious way, to wear anything less than a smile is not a good look. So I’ve been busy frowning away, trying to keep it hidden, but it’s obvious when a man’s not at ease with himself.”
