Here is the Jason Mraz Today show video of his August 7, 2009 appearance. See the Jason Mraz, I’m Yours (lyrics below), performance of the international hit single from his third studio album, ‘We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things,’ as well as ‘Remedy’ and ‘Make It Mine,’ on the Plaza at Rockefeller Center as part of the Summer concert Series.
As the Pittsburgh Tribute notes in a recent article, his Grammy Award nominated signature song I’m Yours has been on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 67 weeks, which is just two weeks from the record setting 69 weeks of the the LeAnn Rimes hit ‘How Do I Live.’ The article goes on to quote the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter as saying of the popularity of his music, which fuses elements of pop, R&B, reggae, and hip hop and is known for being positive and upbeat:
“I think it has to do with timing,” Mraz says. “Songs about consciousness and peace and love really resonate with the world, which is in need of songs of consciousness. The world actually was seeking songs of consciousness at the same time I was releasing another one.”

Friday morning I saw Jason’s performance as I sat in the waiting room of the doctor’s office. I was called in just as the performance ended and I was thinking, who is this guy?
As a 68-year-old I don’t follow popular music as I did a few decades ago, but after I got home I quickly located a link on the Internet so that I could watch the clip–over and over and over again.
Besides the joy of listening to “I’m Yours,” the excitement of the crowd really comes through in the video. Such scenes are truly hypnotic for me. I’ve always said that if I could be anything I wanted to be, it would be a singer.
