Here is the official Maxwell Bad Habits Video featuring actress Kerry Washington. It is in support of the second official single from BLACKSummer’sNight, the R&B neo-soul singer’s fourth studio album, also known as Black Summer’s Night, his first in eight years.
Premiering on August 5, 2009 on the Steve Harvey Morning Show, and following upon the success of the lead single Pretty Wings the new music video reveals the Grammy nominated singer-songwriter and Kerry Washington (most recently seen in the movie Lakeview Terrace) portraying a man and a woman who have fallen into an illicit affair. Vivid, compelling and suggestive, the Maxwell Bad Habits video perfectly captures the lure of addictive and unhealthy relationships.
The BLACKsummer’snight album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and the Billboard R&B album charts and is his first since the platinum selling Now in 2001 (which also debuted at No. 1 on both charts). Regarding the success of the new album, Maxwell paid tribute to the musicians and collaborators with whom he worked, speaking to Singersroom in an interview.
“I made this album and these albums (ie: “Now” and “Embrya”) with the assistance of so many great people. Musicians on this album are at the top of their game. To be in that zone or that place where you’re just making music because you really love it… you can tell the difference,” says Maxwell.
