Here are National Geographic Locked Up Abroad Sierra Leone video and photos from the latest episode of the critically acclaimed and gripping series now in its summer season. The episode was broadcast on August 5, 2009 at 10 pm ET.
This latest episode National Geographic Locked Up Abroad Sierra Leone chronicles the harrowing experience of Major Phil Ashby (portrayed by an actor in the photo above) who joins the United Nations peacekeeping mission which intends to assist in disarming the warring factions in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
He is thrown into a modern day horror story where he witnesses ruthless child soldiers who do the bidding of a rebel warlord. As some of the child soldiers and rebels relinquish their weapons to Major Phil Ashby and the UN peacekeeping team, the warlord retaliates in a violent rampage, and closes in on the UN team bent on getting revenge. Surrounded, outgunned and vastly outnumbered, Phil risks everything in a desperate 50-mile escape through rebel-controlled jungle.
