Here is the Obama Town Hall the online town hall meeting on health care issues on July 1, 2009, with photos and transcript. President Barack Obama held the online health care town hall meeting starting at 1:15 pm. ET. at Northern Virginia Community College, in Annandale, Virginia. See the full video, transcript and pictures here. Questions were taken via live audience, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
The President addressed a range of questions regarding health care before a live audience of approximately 200 people in the northern Virginia town. They were chosen by White House Office of Public Engagement and the Northern Virginia Community College. Numbering among the audience were students, professors, administrative staff and citizens of the town.
According to the Washington Post, White House selected Annandale, Virginia because it typifies parts of the U.S. where people are trying to cope with rising health care costs.
According to statistics provided by the administration, family health care premiums in Virginia have increased by 99 percent since 2000, leading nearly a quarter of middle-class Virginians to pay about 10 percent of their income on health care costs.

I think something is wrong with the math here. He says 2/3 of the money will come from money that is already in the healthcare system. He put a number to this of $177B over 10 years, or $17.7B/yr. He goes on to say 1/3 will come from taxing the top 2%. The final number of this works out to $950B over the course of 10 years. How does $177B work out to 2/3 of $950B?
I understand if I’m mistaken on the fact of 2/3 being not in money, but in something else, but if it’s not money what is the something else?
I’m all for Obama and the healthcare reform, but I know national leaders are very good at confusing people with faulty rhetoric and I’m afraid this may turn out the same way.

Obama and his keepers are engaging in a pattern of manipulating the press. But, as long as Heidi Klum and Seal, Cher, Brad Pitt, Edie Falco, Jay-Z and Beyonce, George Klooney, Barbara Walters, Whoopi, Joy Behar, David Letterman, these are the people who we want to be happy in this world. As long as they are happy with the president what else could possibly be a concern.

Obama’s townhall was totally scripted and an insult to the intelligence of the American people. Nice touch including the little girl reading from her card, but blatant lies and manipulation are not going to work this time.
In contrast to this ‘infomercial’ full of campaign style repetitious non-information and dis-information, the other townhalls did contain passion, truth and accurate information.
The lady that spoke up for the Constitution in Arlan Specter’s townhall made me proud to be an Anerican.
Most disturbing allegations about the bills being considered were:
1) Government wants right to access our bank accounts as part of a universal health bill?
2) Abortions will be paid for, but care for infants still in the womb would require ‘health panel’ approval?
3) Rationing of care for the elderly will include, and be dependent upon these same health panels, with mandatory ‘end-of-life-counseling’?!?
Why are the only two (2) options being considered, bureaucratic and corrupt-ridden ‘Government-Run’ or ‘Insurance-Company-Run’ options?
What about local cooperatives run by Doctors, financed by 401K-style savings and retirement accounts that collect interest while people are young and healthy, and that are tapped into only when folks get old – available across State lines, with Federal Government oversight only.
What about a Stimulus Plan that includes building more Hospitals and Emergency Rooms across the nation? If you build them, the Doctors and Nurses will come!
Socialized healthcare and cap-and-trade global taxation are just tools for overwhelming the economy and Obama is nothing more than a Muslim Trojan Horse.
