The music video is shot primarily in black and white with a color sequence and features Beyonce in a beach setting as an onlooker as her love interest is seen with another woman.

The Beyonce Broken Hearted Girl lyrics and music were written and produced by Beyoncé, Eriksen, the Norwegian songwriting/production team Hermansen, and Kenneth Brian “Babyface” Edmonds. It is at is included in album’s re-release, Above and Beyoncé (Video Collection & Dance Remixes)” DVD/CD.
