The music video is in support of the second single from the legendary Irish band’s newly released 12th studio album ‘No Line on the Horizon;’ their first album in four years, since ‘How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.’
The U2 Magnificent video was directed by Alex Courtez, who previously directed the band’s “Get on Your Boots” video. U2 Magnificent lyrics and music were written by Bono and The Edge along with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. The legendary band from Dublin, Ireland was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005, their first year of eligibility. Worldwide, the band has sold more than 145 million albums. U2 has won 22 Grammy Awards, only one other music legend, Stevie Wonder, equals that number of Grammys.
The band will be touring this summer; the highly anticipated U2 360 Tour kicks off June 30, 2009 in Barcelona, Spain and continues through the fall of 2010. Touring along with U2 will be Black Eyed Peas, Snow Patrol, Elbow, Kaiser Chiefs, and Glasvegas. It is the band’s first world tour since Vertigo Tour in 2005-2006. The tour will use innovative 360 degree stage by their long time show director and Willie Williams and architect Mark Fisher who worked on previous U2 tours, including ZooTV, PopMart, Elevation and Vertigo tours.
