Susan Boyle Cry Me a River (Video)

in: Music

Listen to the Susan Boyle Cry Me a River 1999 recording which has just hit the Internet. The Britain’s Got Talent Susan Boyle, the 47-year-old singing sensation from Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland has become an overnight sensation with her emotionally powerful delivery of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Les Miserables famously winning over the skeptical and cynical judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden and a dismissive audience, both brought to cheering and a standing ovation.

Susan Boyle YouTube videos have since gone viral and her story a universal story of triumph and the importance of living out one’s dreams, to say nothing of a reminder to never judge based on appearances. (See: Susan Boyle Video (Britain’s Got Talent))

She was also seen on a number of U.S. morning television programs, including Good Morning America and CBS Early Show on April 16, 2009. See: Susan Boyle CBS Early Show Video 4-16-09 She will also, reportedly, appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show although a date has not been set and an official confirmation has not been made. But the speculation seems highly probably.

So it was just a matter of time — and in this case, not much time at all — that a recording would surface. The Scottish newspaper, The Daily Record found the 1999 Susan Boyle Cry Me a River recording which is part of a compilation CD for charity, The Millennium Celebration disc, of which only 1,000 copies were produced.

The project was spearheaded by Eddie Anderson a local newspaper editor in Scotland. In an interview, he talked about the Susan Boyle audition, which was one of several for the compilation CD which solicited unsigned artists to participate.

“I was amazed when she sang,” Eddie said. “It was probably the same reaction as everyone had last Saturday.

“Susan was exactly the same then as she is now. She has a fabulous and unique talent.”
