National Geographic Locked Up Abroad Kidnapped in the Philippines
National Geographic Locked Up Abroad Philippines (Kidnapped in the Philippines) is the latest episode in the gritty and gripping series which is now in Season 3. See photos, video here of the episode broadcast on April 15, 2009.

The third episode of the 14 part series National Geographic Locked Up Abroad follows the experience of a former hospital supervisor, Greg Williams. Through a series of misfortunes; an injury which results in unemployment and then divorce, Williams looks for a way to rebuild his life. He volunteers to do work on a Christian crusade as a missionary in the southern Philippines.

He is en route to join his colleagues when armed men ambush his taxi. He is kidnapped; covered with a hood, beaten and put on a boat. He then finds himself shackled to a tree while he is held for randsom by his Islamic captors, Abu Sayyaf. Rather than reveal where his colleagues are, Greg Williams devises a plan to escape.

As with all of the series episodes, Locked Up Abroad Kidnapped in the Philippines intersperses reenactment with interviews with the subject, who is Greg Williams this week.
