Here is the ‘Taking Woodstock’ trailer. It is the first theatrical trailer for the highly anticipated movie directed by Ang Lee that chronicles the true story behind the legendary 1969 Woodstock Music and Arts Festival.
The trailer premiered March 25, 2009 on Comedy Central’s Important Things with Demetri Martin. The movie which will be released in theaters on August 14, 2009, is based on a memoir by Elliot Tiber entitled Taking Woodstock: A True Story of a Riot, a Concert, and a Life. Both the book and the resulting comedy movie reveal the little known story of how Woodstock came about. Tiber is portrayed by Demetri Martin in the movie. He was working at his parents’ motel in the Catskills and saw the opportunity to host ’some hippy thing’ as a way to raise money save the struggling family venture. Little did he know he had set in motion the iconic festival that defined a generation.
Starring as Tibor’s parents are Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) and Eugene Levy (American Pie). The movie also stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen), Emile Hirsch (Milk), and Liev Schrieber (Wolverine).
Famed director Ang Lee is best known for Hidden Dragon and Brokeback Mountain.
