The 26-year-old first season American Idol winner has just released her fourth studio album, All I Ever Wanted. The album features production and songwriting from OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder along with Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Howard Benson, and others.

Her hit single ‘My Life Would Suck without You’ was co-written by Max Martin and Dr. Luke, who also wrote Katy Perry’s ‘I Kissed a Girl’ and the controversial Britney Spears’ single ‘If U Seek Amy.’ The single jumped from No. 97 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making history as the biggest leap to No. 1 on the chart. Clarkson has not topped the chart since 2002 with her first single, ‘A Moment Like This,’ which was the song written her as the first season American Idol winner, and is from her debut album, Thankful.’

The new album is on track to debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200 according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The runaway success of Clarkson’s fourth studio album is in contrast with her previous, 2007 album, My December.

Between the label’s outspoken dissatisfaction with her songs and Clive Davis supposedly having offered Clarkson $10 million to scrap five of its tracks in favor of selections of his choosing, the grief alone should have driven her mad. And it almost did. After the release of the album she canceled its supporting tour and fired her manager. Responding to all of the controversy, she commented “I just want people to hear it, instead of 100-year old executives making decisions on what’s good for pop radio. It’s people my age who listen to it. My gut hasn’t been wrong yet, so why wouldn’t I continue to follow it?”

As for the constant Internet chatter, Kelly Clarkson weight gain, Kelly Clarkson pregnant, and so on, most recently fueled by her appearance on American Idol, March 11, 2009, the singer exhibits an exemplary positive attitude about herself and her body image. In a recent interview, she said,

“I feel very fortunate coming from ‘American Idol’. I was the biggest girl in the group. I’ve always been thicker and millions of people voted for me. People are born all different shapes and sizes. People like me this way.”

In denying Kelly Clarkson lesbian rumors, she said,

“I don’t get it, was I sleep walking and kissed a girl and there’s a picture or something? Just because I’m single and don’t date a lot, that doesn’t make me a lesbian.”
