Here is the official music video for Britney Spears’ “If U Seek Amy,’ the controversial third single from her sixth studio album, Circus. Watch the video and see photos of the pop superstar here. The highly anticipated music video made its debut on March 12, 2009 on the Virgin Mobile Web site and the official Web site of Britney Spears.

‘If U Seek Amy’ is the album’s third single; it was co-written and produced by Max Martin, who wrote some of the pop superstar’s prevous songs, in particular two of her signature hits “…Baby One More Time” and “Oops!… I Did It Again”.. The music video was directed by Jake Nava, who directed the music video for ‘My Prerogative.’ He has also directed videos for top music artists including Beyonce, Leona Lewis, and Shakira.

The song has generated controversy over the lyrics because at one point in the song, as Britney Spears sings…”All of the boys and all of the girls are beggin’ to, if you seek Amy…some claim it sounds as if Britney Spears is actually singing “All of the boys and all of the girls are beggin’ to f—k me.”

The video features steamy scenes with the pop superstar and dancers, and juxtaposes the suggestive setting with scenes of Britney Spears portraying a provocative suburban housewife.

The Britney Spears Circus Tour 2009 kicked off March 3, 2009 in New Orleans, Louisiana under the direction of the Emmy Award-winning choreographer and director, Wade Robson. “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” also features the Pussycat Dolls and will make stops in 26 North American cities in total, with the European leg of the tour kicking off in London, England’s O2 Arena on June 3 and 4, 2009.
