The 81st Academy Awards winners are here. See photos, video, red carpet arrivals and list of Oscar winners here. The awards take place February 22, 2009 at 8:00pm Eastern Time (GMT – 5) with first-time host Hugh Jackman (‘Australia’ and ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine.’) People Magazine named him Sexiest Man Alive in 2008. The awards will be in good hands; the actor won an Emmy in 2005 for hosting the 59th annual Tony Awards in 2004.

Oscar favorites; the late Heath Ledger is all but assured a win for Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his brilliant, edgy performance in ‘The Dark Knight.’ Danny Boyle’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ has received 10 Oscar nods and is sure to come home a winner. Overall, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button leads the field with 13 Oscar nods.
