See video and photos here of the acclaimed alternative rock group whose music spans numerous genres including post-punk, funk, doo-wop, soul, shoegaze and electro. The group performed’ Golden Age’ and ‘Dancing Choose’ on the program which was hosted by Bradley Cooper.

The group is comprised of composed of Tunde Adebimpe (vocals/loops), David Andrew Sitek (guitars/keyboards/loops), Kyp Malone (vocals/guitars/loops) along with Jaleel Bunton (drums) and Gerard Smith (bass/keyboards).

Their fourth studio album, Dear Science was released in September 2008 and features guest appearances from Antibalas and Celebration’s Katrina Ford. Previous collaborators have included David Bowie on backing vocals on their third studio album, Return from Cookie Mountain.

Rolling Stone named Dear Science the 2008 album of the year.

The year’s finest rock record was also the one that sounded the most like America in 2008, with infernal visions of war and economic desperation. But amid the fear and loathing, there was defiance: “No bombs are falling on me for sure,” sang Tunde Adebimpe; he also called this “the age of miracles/The age of sound.” These Brooklynites greeted the historical moment with awe — and responded with art-rock party music. Call it the audacity of hope.
