Here is the official music video for Ciara’s single ‘Never Ever,’ featuring Young Jeezy.   See the video and recent photos here. It’s the lead single from the Grammy  winning R&B singer-songwriter’s highly anticipated third studio album, Fantasy Ride, which is presently scheduled for a tentative April 2009 release. The music video was directed by Chris Robinson. Cameos include Young Jeezy and Monica along with actor Kevin Phillips who costars in Notorious, and Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks. The video had its debut on January 30, 2009 on BET.

The single is produced by Polow Da Don and co-written by Ciara and Elvis “BlacElvis” Williams. The single’s chorus is purposefully reminiscent of the classic hit from Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes’ “If You Don’t Know Me by Now.”

MTV News interviewed Ciara at the recent New York Premiere of Notorious and she discussed the single.

I’m singing about [when] you go through the confusion of love…”And, basically, I say, ‘If that boy don’t love you by now, he’ll never ever love you.’ And sometimes we wait around and we go through so many different things. And if that person is not showing you the affection you need and not giving you the right love, then you got to let it go. I talk about the confusion of love — being confused about staying or leaving or letting go.”

Producer Polow Da Don shared his thoughts on the single and on his collaboration with the singer, a working relationship he has compared to that of Timberland and Aaliyah.

“I make her sound like a vocalist versus the other stuff she may do that’s more performance, where she can get on the dance floor. It’s kind of the same thing with Aaliyah. She may not have been the best singer, but her voice was so unique and her sound — she had her own lane, and I think Ciara is like that same thing.”

In addition to Young Jeezy, the forthcoming Fantasy Ride album will have guest appearances from Missy Elliott, Ludacris, Akon, Young Jeezy, and Justin Timberlake
