Solange Knowles covered Coldplay’s hit single ‘Viva La Vida’ as a part of the Pepsi Smash Yahoo! Music cover artist series. Watch the video and see recent photos here. Solange delivered a captivating and solid rendition of the single; in her introductory remarks, she expressed her appreciation of the energy and lyrics of the song. The R&B singer-songwriter’s sophomore album studio album, SoL-AngeL and The Hadley St. Dreams was released on August 26, 2008 and is in stores now. The inventive, neo-soul album which evokes the 1960s Motown Sound has garnered critical acclaim and has produced the hit single, “I Decided.” The album features production from by Cee-Lo Green, Soulshock & Karlin and Mark Ronson.
